Pasifika teen lands a role in Avatar sequel

Fourteen-year-old Kiwi actor Duane Evans Jr. has landed a role in James Cameron's Avatar sequel.

The talented teen, who has Cook Island heritage, will play a young member of the oceanic Metkayina clan named Rotxo.

Evans joins the blockbuster set alongside Kiwi star Cliff Curtis who will play the leader of the Metkayina clan. 

Production for Avatar 2 began this week and is scheduled to be released in 2020.
