Niue is bidding to host the Pacific Mini Games in 2025 and it will be the first time for The Rock to host a regional sports event of that magnitude.
Head of Sports Maru Talagi will submit Niue's expression of interest when the Pacific Games General Assembly meets in Port Vila this weekend.

Pacific Games Council CEO Andrew Minogue says they are open to all offers, citing small nations as Wallis and Futuna as well as Norfolk Islands as previous hosts.
"For the Mini Games you can do a maximum of 12 sports but the minimum is five," he says. "A very small island country like Niue, if they can just do a basic five-sport programme, they can host the Games."
"The scope is there, if they can put a small programme together, we've certainly got the flexibility in our system to take the Mini Games to their country."
