The 36-year-old debuted for Auckland in 1999 and will be the first Auckland woman to reach 100 caps when she plays against North Harbour tomorrow night.

She says it's just another game.

"I don't keep count of the games that I play," she says. "I never thought I'd get 100 caps for Auckland and I never thought I'd get pass 50 caps for the Black Ferns but it's because I love it and it's the culture around me that keeps pushing me."

Women's rugby advocate Tauanu'u Nick Bakulich says Fa'amausili epitomises what a Pacific role model looks like on and off the field.

"Her achievements go on forever on the sports field but off the field she's also a community leader in her work as a Detective Constable," he says.

Fa'amausili and her team's 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup win was celebrated today in South Auckland.

Fans and family members showed up at the Vodafone Event Centre to acknowledge the team's 5th World Cup win.

Fa'amausili says it's a privilege to be a role model for young girls aspiring to be rugby players.

"We love that a lot of girls are playing rugby these days," she says. "It puts a smile on our face because it's something that when we're in our rocking chairs later on in life we can say we've had an input in that."

She says she'd love to get more publicity for women's rugby.

"We need the crowd out there to support it," she says. "This is just the start of us building and I'm looking forward to the next few years."

Auckland Mayor Phil Goff was present and thanked the girls for their hard work on behalf of New Zealand.
